How to Apply

The ESA Foundation—dedicated to supporting the next, increasingly diverse generation of video game creators and players—now offers three types of scholarships to college students:

  • The ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Arts Scholarship, for students pursuing careers as video game creators

  • The ESA Foundation LGBTQ+ support scholarship, for students pursuing video game arts degrees while actively supporting their LGBTQ+ communities

  • The ESA Foundation esports scholarship, for students who play esports on a collegiate team and are pursuing a four-year, academic degree

You may fit into one, two or all three categories. For details, click here to read descriptions of the first two scholarships and here for a description of our brand-new esports scholarship. Please note that to qualify for the LGBTQ+ support scholarship, you must also qualify for the Computer and Video Game Arts Scholarship.

Whatever your skills and aspirations, we know that paying for college is a big challenge—and that the video game industry continually strives to create a workforce and esports landscape that is more diverse than ever. For roughly 20 years, the ESA Foundation has encouraged and supported those whose dream is to work in the industry, so we encourage you to apply for any or all of our scholarships.
